I’m pleased to announce that marine biologist Stefanie Hawks-Johnson has accepted my invitation to be my running mate. Stefanie won the “People’s Choice” vote, the confidence of the campaign team and myself. I invite you to get to know her in the newest episode of the Dave the Planet podcast.

In this episode, we share how ranked choice voting worked in our “People’s Choice” running mate contest. We’re all frustrated at how our current election system allows the GOP and Democratic parties to dominate, and prevents independent and third-party candidates from even being taken seriously, let alone having a chance at being elected. We need all the states to adopt ranked choice voting.
We also discuss our state of overshoot, the importance of biodiversity, and challenges in communicating about human overpopulation. Why don’t influencers like George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon talk about it? We also discuss why we’re voting for Kamala Harris, and why, nevertheless, we’re proceeding with the Dave the Planet campaign. Spoiler alert: the campaign will continue to alert and educate about ecological overshoot, and to develop the blueprint for The Bright Future Project – which any administration is encouraged to adopt.
